Extremism (ik-stree-miz-uhm)
Fanatic interpretation of a point of view that is out of the mainstream

As the red on-air light went black, Leon Joneway removed his headphones while his producer, Gordy, began playing a set of commercials for the current break. Leon stood up from his chair and stretched out his back and neck. It was going to be a long day and Leon had no intention of cramping up this early into the show. The Leon Joneway Show was a popular news and talk program broadcast out of Spitshire Grove Studios just southwest of White River City. The show usually ran from six in the morning until one in the afternoon, but today they were broadcasting a twenty-four hour marathon. Leon had wanted to do this for years, and the opportunity presented itself a few weeks ago when a couple of less popular shows were canceled.

Leon looked into the window of the production booth, noticed that Gordy was gone, and assumed he was taking a bathroom break. They were at the top of the fourth hour of the marathon and he knew there was going to be several minutes of commercials. Leon grabbed his notes for the upcoming hour, and starting reading through them as he paced around the studio. The studio was smaller than his previous one in White River City but the overhead was a lot lower and the owners of the station had given him considerably more control of the creative content since he had come here three years ago. Plus, the residents of Spitshire Grove were a little more conservative than a lot of the folks in White River City and he felt more at home surrounded by like-minded individuals.
